Our greatest asset in life is and will always be our ability to dream and see beyond our current circumstances. The Opemia Empowerment Center was created to provide opportunities and resources to assist those who are living in marginalized communities with the skills and tools to build the life they desire. We believe that everyone deserves to have an opportunity to achieve the level of success they envision for themselves. Our sister company, Opemia Consulting, has experienced a significant level of success over the last year and we understand as an organization that while growing minority-owned businesses is critical, without talent and community empowerment these businesses will struggle to grow and thrive. Therefore, we decided to launch the Opemia Empowerment Center to create a pipeline of empowerment that will focus on three core areas -- workforce development, community empowerment, and youth development.

We believe that with the right level of support we can assist in developing the next leaders in technology, government, and business. Our team and Board of Directors believe that now is the time to become actively involved in supporting the evolution of communities across the state of Arizona. Over the next 6 months we will focus on building our infrastructure as an organization, building critical community partnerships, and build our credibility to become a go-to organization within the Phoenix community. While we understand the challenges of being a fairly new organization, we also understand this work is important and we will continue to do our part to empower and inspire people who live in the communities we serve.

As the Executive Director of the Opemia Empowerment Center, my vision is clear and I am committed to bringing valuable programs to the city of Phoenix. As we focus on building our programs and identifying the resources needed we will also be looking for leaders, volunteers, and community organizers who share our passion. We are extremely excited about our future and look forward to sharing our success. Today we start our journey with the focus of building a better tomorrow.

Andre T. Whittington

Executive Director, Opemia Empowerment Center
