Our Story

This is a great place to add a tagline.

The Opemia Empowerment Center was founded by Andre Whittington in 2021 to assist in creating positive impacts across the Arizona community.

Born and raised in New Orleans, La, and witnessed first-hand how the impact of economic and educational disparities can directly influence our lives and livelihood.

As a Veteran and Entrepreneur, he also experienced the challenges of building economic stability with little to start with or build upon.

The Opemia Empowerment Center is a place that focuses on individuals who embrace a similar background and need of support.

Our programs are focused on ensuring we are building stronger communities and empowering the workforce with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute to a thriving economy.

OUR CORE VALUES

Opemia Empowerment Center's work is grounded in the foundational belief that we must model our core values as an organization, within our programs, and across our teams. In carrying out our vision and mission we embrace the following values:

INTEGRITY

We believe that it is our responsibility to do the right thing and always put the needs of our community before our own.

COURAGE

We believe that our work takes courage and a willingness to take risk in the pursuit of generational change.

INCLUSIVENESS

We believe that our intent to do good must be grounded in our ability to embrace diversity, inclusion, and equity in deep and transformational ways.

COLLABORATION

We believe in the value of working with our community, stakeholders, and government leaders to bring the change needed to make intentional and sustainable impacts
